Our Story

Discover the heart of D&B African Village Arts, LLC. From humble beginnings to a thriving cultural hub, learn about our journey, our passion, and our commitment to bringing authentic African art to you.

From Gambia to the World

D&B African Village Arts, LLC was born from the vision of Kissima (Sheriffu Drammeh), an immigrant from The Gambia, West Africa. Arriving in the United States at age 25, Sheriffu began his journey by showcasing art from a hotel room, building a loyal customer base that paved the way for a permanent gallery in Houston's Museum District and now online for the world. His entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to authentic African art are at the core of our business.

Authenticity and Selection

We pride ourselves on offering a vast collection of over 600 authentic African art pieces, imported directly from West Africa. This direct sourcing cuts out the middleman, ensuring the authenticity and quality of each item. From fine art and masks to jewelry, clothing, black soap, shea butter, and musical instruments, our collection provides a deep and genuine connection to African culture.

A Cultural Bridge

More than just an art gallery, D&B African Village Arts, LLC is a cultural hub dedicated to promoting and preserving African culture and heritage. Each piece in our collection is often accompanied by information about its history and function, providing visitors with a richer appreciation and a deeper understanding of its cultural significance. We aim to foster cultural exchange and education through art.

"D&B African Village Arts is more than just a store; it's an experience. The authenticity and the stories behind each piece are truly captivating."
